Area Bluegrass Festivals Take Steps To Make Attendees Safe During The 2022 Season
Area bluegrass festivals have taken steps to make attendees much safer at 2022 events. This season, vaccines will finally make it possible to hold events with a minimum of risk…a huge improvement over the past two years.
The vaccines are FREE and WIDELY AVAILABLE. However, it will take several months to get all of the shots. Plan now to avoid missing any of your favorite live gatherings. Covid Vaccines will be required for almost all events by almost all presenters in Northern California. This includes events presented by NCBS, such as the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival.

One Day Reminder: The Pisgah Banjo Raffle ticket sales will END ON March 6, 2022. You can support the IBMA Foundation Arnold Shultz Fund that supports bluegrass participation by people of color. The NCBS is a longtime organizational member of the International Bluegrass Music Association, which is affiliated with the Foundation.
The Pisgah Banjo Company of Asheville, North Carolina is holding the special banjo raffle to benefit the Arnold Shultz Fund. This year $10,000 of these funds will also be gifted to the Black Banjo Reclamation Project to support a gourd banjo building workshop in the black banjo community.

The Northern California Bluegrass Society is 40 years old in 2022. The organization was founded as the Santa Cruz Bluegrass Society in 1982.

The festival will return to the San Benito County Historical Park in Tres Pinos (7 miles south of Hollister) after a forced two-year pandemic hiatus.
Bluegrass Music Returns To Sam’s BBQ In San Jose On Wednesday March 2
The Northern California Bluegrass Society welcomes the return of bluegrass music to Sam’s BBQ in following the pandemic. The San Jose venue has supported bluegrass and related music for decades, but has not been able to stage live music for the past two years.
A month-long experiment will be held on Wednesdays in March, including two bluegrass bands. If this experiment succeeds, regular music will continue. Thanks for your support!
