Phil’s Fish Market To Reopen In Castroville In Less Than A Month — No Word Yet On Bluegrass Shows

Longtime bluegrass music venue Phil’s Fish Market will reopen in less than a month at a new location in Castroville, a few miles away from its old location in Moss Landing. There is no word at this time about when or if live bluegrass music performances will resume.

The new Castroville venue will be located in an 1869 structure built as a schoolhouse, but later renovated for restaurant use. It is next to the famous “Castroville” billboard sign that identifies the town as the world’s Artichoke Capital.

The Moss landing restaurant closed on Labor Day following the non-renewal of its lease. A long-planned new marine research facility will be constructed at that location.
