The Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival is looking for two very special volunteers for the August 10-13, 2017 gathering. We need a volunteer coordinator and a gate crew chief. These fun, key positions will play a big role in planning and running the 24th festival.
The line-up has been announced for the Saturday, March 18, 2017 Stanley Sing at La Promenade Cafe in San Francisco. The 3:00-10:00pm program is welcomed by the Northern California Bluegrass Society.
Bluegrass musicians will take turns performing favorite songs of The Stanley Brothers and related bands.
The performers:Windy Hill (Thomas Wille, Ryan Breen), Eric Embry, The Hossettes (Angela Personini, Hailey Pexton, Karen Wilhoyte), Josh Tharp (of Keith Littleās Band), High Country (Larry Cohea, Jim Mintun), Keystone Crossing (Larry Carlin, Claudia Hampe), Bernal Hillbillies (Larry Chung, Bill Foss, Martha Hawthorne, Scot Brenton, Amy Scher), Ted Kuster, Town Howlers (John McKelvy), Chris Smith (The Mighty Crows), Chuck and Jeanieās Country Round Up, Skillet Licorice (Matt Knoth, Elise Engelberg), Tom Diamont, and Paul Shelasky (house fiddler).
The La Promenade at 3643 Balboa StreetĀ is the FREE event’s new home, replacing The Lucky Horseshoe.

The FREE series is presented by theĀ Summit House Beer Garden & Grill and welcomed by theĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society.
TheĀ Summit House is the purveyor of fine food and drink and is located six miles south ofĀ Los GatosĀ onĀ Highway 17. The address is 23123 Santa Cruz Highway, Los Gatos, CA.
Redwood Bluegrass Associates will present John Reischman & The Jaybirds onĀ Saturday, March 18. The show will be held at theĀ Masonic Hall, 890 Church Street, Mountain View. Concert doors will open atĀ 7:00pm and the show will begin atĀ 7:30pm.
A freeĀ 5:00pm jam hosted byĀ The Handsome Ladies and open to all players will begin the evening of bluegrass.
The concert is welcomed Ā by theĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society. This is currently set to be the last season for this 25-year-old organization.
TheĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society/Santa Cruz Bluegrass Society’s Santa Cruz Bluegrass Fair is set forĀ Saturday, May 6, 2017. The FREE afternoon concert inĀ San Lorenzo Park will be held at theĀ Duck Pond Stage. The fairĀ has ben held since 1986 and is the oldest NCBS/SCBS event.
