The Northern California Bluegrass Society welcomes the revival of the San Francisco Bluegrass & Old Time Festival October 11-15, 2017.
Events will be held at various venues all around San Francisco.
NCBS Board Of Directors Re-Elects Officers For 2017-2018
TheĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society Board Of Directors has chosen officers forĀ 2016-2017. The incumbents were all re-elected:

AJ Lee & Blue Summit To Play Thursday At The Summit House Between Los Gatos & Santa Cruz
The Thursday Bluegrass Series at the Summit House Beer Garden & Grill betweenĀ Los Gatos andĀ Santa Cruz is heldĀ every Thursday evening 6:00-8:30pm.
AJ Lee & Blue Summit will perform onĀ September 21. Good food & drink will be available during the FREE show and the view of theĀ Santa Cruz Mountains is endless.
The showĀ is presented by theĀ The Summit House and welcomed by theĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society.Ā Robert Cornelius organizes the series.
On September 28,Ā The Stoney Mountain Ramblers will appear to close out the month.
San Francisco Bluegrass & Old Time Festival To Present An Open Jam On Saturday October 14
TheĀ San Francisco Bluegrass & Old Time Festival is back after a four-year hiatus! Events will happen all overĀ San Francisco onĀ Wednesday-Sunday, October 11-15, 2017.
A FREE outdoor Bluegrass Jam Session open to all will be held Noon-2:00pm at the corner of Market and Castro Streets, hosted by The Beauty Operators. Calling all Bay Area pickers to come and join in!
The original SFBOT festival (with a 14-year run starting in 2000) was organized by a quasi-independent committee of theĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society. The revival is a project of several area bluegrass organizations including theĀ California Bluegrass Association, and is welcomed by theĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society.
NCBS Walker Creek Music Camp Scholarship Fund Awards Tuition Assistance To Two Fall Camp Students
TheĀ NCBS Walker Creek Music Camp Scholarship Fund has awarded tuition assistance to help two young Northern California musicians attend the September 28-October 1Ā , 2017 camp nearĀ Petaluma.
The scholarships will assist a 12-year-old girl fiddler and a 20-year-old female banjo player to attend the camp.
Thanks to the generous donors and to the NCBS scholarship committee. The fund will soon begin collecting donations to help deserving students who want to attend the Spring camp, set for April.

The Handsome Ladies Present A Women’s Music Showcase At The SFBOT Festival On October 13
TheĀ San Francisco Bluegrass & Old Time Festival will returnĀ onĀ Wednesday-Sunday, October 11-15, 2017. The SFBOT shows will be held in various venues all around the City.
OnĀ Friday, October 13, The Handsome Ladies will present a showcase of women songwriters and/or songs made famous by women, performed by a variety of singers and musicians backed byĀ The Picks (the Handsome Ladies pick-up band).
The Handsome Ladies promote female participation in bluegrass music. This is a coed event and all genders are welcome.
The show will be heldĀ 7:00-10:00pm at theĀ SOMA Streat Food Park, 428 11th Street, San Francisco.
