TheĀ San Francisco Bluegrass & Old Time Festival is back after a four-year hiatus! Events will happen all overĀ San Francisco onĀ Wednesday-Sunday, October 11-15, 2017.

A FREE Sunday Closing Concert is set for October 15 at the Jerry Garcia Amphitheatre in McLaren Park. Here is the line-up:

On Saturday evening, October 14, the SFBOT Square Dance, with KC & The Moonshine Band featuring Karen Celia Heil, and members of the Bearcat Stringband, with calling by Jordan Ruyle, will be held at the St. Mary’s Park Recreation Center in San Francisco.

The revival is a project of several area bluegrass organizations including the California Bluegrass Association, and is welcomed by theĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society.

Save The Date: Third Annual Mountain Music Festival Set For Sunday, October 7, 2018

The Mountain Music Festival has announced the date for the Third Annual event at Emma Prusch Farm Park in San Jose.

The free, family-friendly festival will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2018.

The only bluegrass festival in San Jose will be presented by the Emma Prusch Farm Park Foundation and the City Of San Jose.

It will be welcomed by the Northern California Bluegrass Society.

The 2017 event was a big success, with great music, a friendly bluegrass audience, and perfect weather. In addition to the music, a harvest festival entertained attendees.

Goat Hill Girls Set For Thursday October 5 Show At The Summit House

The Goat Hill Girls

The Thursday Bluegrass Series at theĀ Summit House Beer Garden & Grill at the top ofĀ Highway 17 will presentĀ The Goat Hill Girls in performance onĀ October 5. TheĀ 6:00-8:30pm music program is presented by theĀ The Summit House and welcomed by theĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society.

The place will serve good drink and good food during the performance and the view is endless.

The top of the mountains venue in theĀ Santa Cruz Mountains is 6 miles south ofĀ Los Gatos atĀ 23123 Santa Cruz Highway.

There will be NO MUSIC onĀ Thursday, October 12, as the restaurant will close for fall vacation. AJ Lee & Blue Summit will perform on October 19.

Here is All You Need To Know To Go to the 2nd Annual Mountain Music Festival on Sunday, October 1:

The Festival: The Emma Prusch Farm Park Foundation & The City Of San Jose present this FREE benefit for the park. The Northern California Bluegrass Society welcomes the only bluegrass festival held in San Jose. The family-friendly event will run 10:00am-5:00pm. with food and crafts booths, and fun farm activities and tours.

Venue: Emma Prusch Farm Park is a beautiful city park dedicated to farm life in the old pre-urban Santa Clara Valley. It is close to the intersection of freeways 101, 280 and 680 in San Jose.

Cost: FREE admission & parking.

The park is located at 647 South King Road (at Story Road) in southern central San Jose, northeast of the 101/280/680 interchange and easily accessible from the freeways using marked exits for those streets. Free onsite parking is available.

Bring: Folding chairs or blankets and money for food and drink. The music area is shaded, but you may want a hat for wandering around the grounds.

Bluegrass Fun: This is the second year for the newĀ bluegrass version of this decades-old event. Last year, many music fans checked it out and had a good time. This year, we expect all of your bluegrass friends to come! See you there!
