Spring 2019 NCBS-Welcomed Brookdale Bluegrass Festival Set For April 19-20 In Tres Pinos

The Northern California Bluegrass Society will welcome the Spring 2019 Brookdale Bluegrass Festival, set for April 19-20 at the San Benito County Historical Park in Tres Pinos. The festival has been presented twice each year since 1998 by Brookdale Bluegrass. More information will be announced soon.

NCBS Bluegrass On Broadway To Present The Stoney Mountain Ramblers On January 26, 2019

TheĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society has announced that the Stoney Mountain RamblersĀ (Menlo Park) will perform in a FREE show at the famedĀ Freewheel Brewing Company on Saturday, January 26, 2019, as part of the NCBS Bluegrass On Broadway Festival.

The 12th Annual BOB Festival will be held at various venues throughoutĀ Redwood City, the Peninsula’s home of bluegrass music. The weekend of music will run January 25-27.

The Freewheel Brewing Company, 3736 Florence Street, offers fine beer and food options.

Bluegrass On Broadway receives principal financial support from theĀ Redwood City Civic Cultural Commission, theĀ Redwood City Department of Parks Recreation & Community Services, and other Redwood City area businesses, organizations and individuals.

Northern California Bluegrass Society To Welcome 14th Annual Holiday Hootenanny In San Carlos December 14

TheĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society will welcome theĀ 14th Annual Devil’s Canyon Brewing Company Holiday Hootenanny inĀ San Carlos onĀ Friday, December 14, 2018. Doors will open atĀ 4:00pm.

The FREE late afternoon & evening gathering will offer bluegrass music, fine craft beer, and good food. The event is presented byĀ Devil’s Canyon and organized byĀ Scott Dailey. More details will be announced soon.

Brookdale Lodge To Officially Reopen With Bluegrass Music On October 24

The Brookdale Lodge, original home of the Brookdale Bluegrass Festival, will officially reopen on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 5:00pm. The Brookdale Bluegrass Band led by Eric Burman will provide music for the ceremony. The public is invited. Local dignitaries will join the owners to enjoy the moment.

The historic Highway 9 establishment (between Boulder Creek and Ben Lomond) plans to once again welcome bluegrass festivals, but not for several years. Only the hotel rooms, lobby and bar will open this week. The music performance space and the famed Brook Room Restaurant are still works in progress.Ā However, bands (including bluegrass) will soon appear in the renovated bar. Purple Mountain Majesty Boys Set For Thursday Bluegrass Series At The Summit House

The Purple Mountain Majesty BoysĀ are set toĀ play theĀ Thursday Bluegrass Series at the Summit House at the top of the Santa Cruz MountainsĀ on Thursday, October 25, with the music performance from 6:00-8:30pm.

The Summit House Beer Garden & GrillĀ is 6 miles south of Los GatosĀ on Highway 17 and presents the FREE weekly series, while theĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society welcomes the shows to our area.

Food and drink will be served during the performance.

FREE NCBS Bluegrass On Broadway Festival Set For January 25-27 In Redwood City

TheĀ Bluegrass On Broadway Festival, presented by the Northern California Bluegrass Society with principal financial support from the Redwood City Civic Cultural Commission, will be held on January 25-27, 2019 in Redwood City. The FREE event will include the Northern California Bluegrass Awards and the NCBS Bluegrass Film Festival.

TheĀ December 6, 2018Ā Winter Brookdale Bluegrass Festival, presented by Brookdale Bluegrass, is set forĀ Michael’s On MainĀ inĀ Soquel.

All Brookdale festivals since 1998 have been welcomed by theĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society. The events have been held all over the Santa Cruz area. (Recently, the springtime fests only have been held in Tres Pinos.)

The performers will includeĀ Freebo & Alice Howe, The Wildcat Mountain Ramblers, & The Brookdale Bluegrass Band.

The one-day gathering is presented byĀ Brookdale Bluegrass, and will take place for the first time atĀ Michael’s On Main,Ā 2591 Main St,
Soquel.
