Redwood City Veterans Memorial Senior Center To Be Demolished, Former Site Of Northern California Bluegrass Awards
The City of Redwood City has approved the demolition of the Veterans Memorial Senior Center, formerly the home of the Northern California Bluegrass Music Awards, part of the Northern California Bluegrass Society’s Bluegrass On Broadway Festival. That event ended in January 2020, just before the pandemic.
The site will become the new home of the YMCA of Silicon Valley. The new Veterans Memorial Senior Center is across the street and will open by the end of this year.

NCBS Welcomes 20th Annual Holiday Hootenanny In San Carlos
The Northern California Bluegrass Society welcomes the 20th Annual Holiday Hootenanny on Friday, December 12 at 4:00pm. This has become a FREE Bay Area Bluegrass Tradition!
The Stoney Mountain Ramblers will be the host band. Other bands will be announced soon.
Thanks to Scott Dailey for booking this event, which is presented by the Devil’s Canyon Brewing Company. There will be an array of excellent food trucks at the event, and the brewery will serve fine craft beer and root beer.

Monday Night Bluegrass To Feature Enrico Burmano Followed By The Stragglyrs Streaming On KKUP Website
A breakdown at the KKUP tower on Loma Prieta Mountain has left the station temporarily off the airwaves, but Monday Night Bluegrass will stream as usual on <www.kkupfm.org>.
The show is 6:00-9:00pm on Monday, November 10, 2025.
NCBS favorite Enrico Burmano And Friends will perform beginning at 6:15pm and The Stragglyrs will follow at 7:30pm.
The program host is NCBS Vice President Mike Russell, with NCBS President Michael Hall serving as live music emcee. Lars Bourne will engineer the broadcast.
Monday Night Bluegrass has been broadcast on the station every Monday night since 1980.
So, don’t Tune In this week — instead Stream In And Turn On! You will be glad you did.
