The Northern California Bluegrass Society Board Of Directors has elected officers for 2016-2017. They are:
President — Michael Hall (Redwood City)
Vice-President — Mike Russell (San Mateo)
Secretary — Bruce Bellochio (Brookdale)
Treasurer — Bruce Edmundson (Sunnyvale)
Redwood Bluegrass Associates has announced that the 2016-2017 concert season will be the non-profit organization’s 25th and final year. The last show will be on April 22, 2017.
The Northern California Bluegrass Society has supported the RBA series since 1995. We are sorry to see it shut down after a great run.
Come out and enjoy the final season! The first of the monthly concerts will be on October 22, 2016 at the Mountain View Masonic Hall with the Kathy Kallick Band.
Volunteers and bands from allĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society events and other projects over the past year will soon receive their invitations to theĀ 2016 Volunteer Thank You Party. The Ā annual gathering for those who do so much all year long to support the music will be held onĀ Saturday, October 29 at an undisclosed location.
One Week Reminder: October 22, 2016 is the due date for film submissions for the 10th Annual NCBS Bluegrass Film Festival. The film festival is part of the FREE Bluegrass On Broadway Festival, set for January 27-29 in Redwood City. Information: (650) 218-9845.
The Kathy Kallick Band (Oakland) will kick off the historic 25th Redwood Bluegrass Associates Concert Season on October 22.
All RBA programs since 1995 have been welcomed by theĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society.
The Saturday evening concert will be presented at theĀ Mountain View Masonic Hall, 890 Church Street. There is plenty of free parking on the street, in the Hall’s lot and in the nearby library parking lot. An open jam will begin at Ā 5:00pm, concert doors will open at 7:00pm and the concert will begin atĀ 7:30pm.

The 10th Annual Bluegrass On Broadway Festival will be held January 27-29, 2017 in Redwood City. The FREE festival is presented by the Northern California Bluegrass Society.
The event includes the Northern California Bluegrass Awards Show And Concert and the NCBS Bluegrass Film Festival, plus other concerts.
One Day Reminder: Nominations for theĀ 10th Annual Northern California Bluegrass Awards are due tomorrow, Saturday, October 8, 2016.
Categories: Band, Male Vocalist, Female Vocalist, Guitar, Mandolin, Banjo, Fiddle, Dobro, & Bass. The awards honor primarily non-touring Northern California bluegrass bands and musicians. Each person may nominateĀ up to three in each category.

NCBS Members will receive two rounds of ballots, then the FREE Northern California Bluegrass Awards Show & Concert will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017, as part of the Northern California Bluegrass Society’sĀ Bluegrass On Broadway Festival in Redwood City. The festival is supported by a base grant from the Redwood City Civic Cultural Commission, and by other Redwood City area individuals, businesses, organizations and agencies.
