August 2020 GOF Virtual Festival Can Be Viewed Online

TheĀ 27th Annual Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival OnlineĀ took place on August 8, 2020.Ā The line-up included AJ Lee & Blue Summit,Ā Goat Hill Girls,Ā Brookdale Bluegrass Band andĀ Mike Fisher & Joanne Tanner.

The Northern California Bluegrass Society presented the virtual show that replaced the in-person festival normally held at the San Benito County Historical Park in Tres Pinos. Here is the link for viewing the archived program online:

Four-Day Reminder:Ā January 31, 2021Ā is the deadline for the initial round of applications for theĀ IBMA Foundation Arnold Shultz Fund for diversity that supports bluegrass participation by people of color.

Recipients can be individuals or organizations.Ā Shultz Fund grants can be used to support a wide range of support and outreach initiatives.

The NCBS is a longtime organizational member of theĀ International Bluegrass Music Association, which is affiliated with the Foundation. NCBS PresidentĀ Michael HallĀ is a member of theĀ IBMA Foundation Board of Directors.

Northern California Bluegrass Musicians are listed in the NCBS DirectoryĀ to giveĀ Online Lessons. Ā Students/fans can support area musicians during the Coronavirus Pandemic with these lessons.

The directory is a FREE service of the Northern California Bluegrass Society. Interested students can check the directory and arrange ONLINE LESSONS with their favorite musicians (the price is between teacher and student).Ā The convenient Directory is listed under Resources in the index on the left side of this website.Ā Musicians can sign up to offer lessons at <webmaster@ncbs.us>.
