FREE 18th Annual Holiday Hootenanny Set For Friday December 8 In San Carlos
NCBS welcomes the FREE 18th Annual Holiday Hootenanny which will kick off December bluegrass fun on Friday, December 8. at 5:00pm.Ā The gathering will be presented by the Devil’s Canyon Brewing Company,Ā 935 Washington Street in San Carlos.Ā
Our own Scott Dailey hosts this fun bluegrass evening. The Stoney Mountain Ramblers and other bands will perform. Fine beer will be served. A variety of food trucks will be there.Ā There will be space for jamming.
Molly Tuttle Is Nominated For Bluegrass Grammy For “City Of Gold”
Former NCBS member Molly Tuttle, formerly of Palo Alto and now of Nashville, has been nominated for a Grammy Award in the bluegrass category. The nomination is for City Of Gold, recorded by her band Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway.
The other nominees were: Radio John: Songs of John Hartford ā Sam Bush, Lovinā Of The Game ā Michael Cleveland, Mighty Poplar ā Mighty Poplar, Bluegrass ā Willie Nelson, and Me/And/Dad ā Billy Strings.
The winner will be announced on February 4, 2024.

Strawberry Music Festival Will Bring Back Festival Calendar In 2024
The Strawberry Music Festival will bring back its beloved wall calendar in 2024 after a 20-year hiatus. Print preparation is underway, but plans for distribution have not been announced. The calendar will mark important festival-related dates and feature beautiful pictures from the Grass-Valley-based event.
Campaign Underway To Nominate The Late Al Knoth For IBMA Award
A campaign is underway to nominate the late Cousin Al Knoth for a Distinguished Achievement Award from the International Bluegrass Music Association. Individuals may submit stories and other information for the effort to Al’s son Matt Knoth hazmatteo@earthlink.net
