Here are the important upcoming bluegrass events of interest to Northern California Bluegrass fans through November:

OCTOBER

19-22 – Sugar Pine Music Festival, Nevada County Fairgrounds, Grass Valley. (Note: was Hangtown Halloween Ball)

NOVEMBER

1 — Infamous Stringdusters, Miner’s Foundry Cultural Center, Nevada City.

2 – Greensky Bluegrass, Fox Theatre, Oakland.

2-5 — CBA South State 48 Bluegrass by the Sea, various venues, Carlsbad.

3 — Laurie Lewis & The Right Hands, Fiddletown Community Center, Fiddletown.

4 — TILLYfest, various downtown venues, Woodland.

4 — Crying Uncle Bluegrass Band & Cross-Eyed Possum, Hopmonk Tavern, Novato.

10-12 — Wickenburg Bluegrass Festival, Rodeo Grounds, Wickenburg, AZ.

19 — Bela Fleck, SFJazz, San Francisco.

30 — Peter Rowan & Friends, Sweetwater Music Hall, Mill Valley.

The 18th Annual Holiday Hootenanny will kick off December bluegrass fun on Friday, December 8. The FREE event will be presented by the Devil’s Canyon Brewing Company and will be held at 5:00pm at the brewery, 935 Washington Street in San Carlos.

Scott Dailey books this fun bluegrass evening. The Stoney Mountain Ramblers and other bands will perform. Fine beer will be served. A variety of food trucks will be there. NCBS welcomes this gathering. There will be space for jamming.
