San Jose’s Prusch Park To Present FREE Mountain Music Festival On October 1

TheĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society welcomes theĀ Mountain Music Festival, set forĀ Sunday, October 1, 2017 atĀ Emma Prusch Farm Park.
The Bands: Bean Creek, The Goat Hills Girls, Sidesaddle & Co, Radio Rail, The Wildcat Mountain Ramblers, Banjo Twins, & The Santa Clara Valley Fiddlers Association.
The FREE, family-oriented festival is presented by theĀ Prusch Farm Park Foundation and theĀ City Of San Jose. It will be held at the park, 647 South King Road, San Jose, near the intersection of Highways 101, 280 & 680.
Deadline For Friday October 13 Women’s Songs Showcase At SFBOT Festival Is Friday September 15
TheĀ San Francisco Bluegrass & Old Time Festival will return toĀ San Francisco onĀ Wednesday-Sunday, October 11-15, 2017. The SFBOT shows will be held in various SF venues.
On Friday, October 13, The Handsome Ladies will present a showcase of women songwriters and/or songs made famous by women, performed by a variety of singers and musicians backed by The Picks (the Handsome Ladies pick-up band). This event is co-ed and all genders are welcome.
The program will run 7:00-10:00pm at the SOMA Street Food Park, 428 11th Street, San Francisco.
The Deadline for entries isĀ Friday, September 15. Eight performers will be selected at random for the show.
The original SFBOT festival (held 2000-2013) was organized by a quasi-independent committee of theĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society. The revival is a project of several area bluegrass organizations, including the California Bluegrass Association.Ā NCBS welcomes this event.

Emma Prusch Farm Park,, donated to the city by farmer Emma Prusch, is located near the intersection of freeways 101, 280 and 680 atĀ 647 South King Road inĀ San Jose.

Goat Hill Girls Play At The Summit House Atop Highway 17 On Thursday September 7

The Thursday Bluegrass Series at theĀ Summit House Beer Garden & Grill at the top of Highway 17 will present The Goat Hill Girls in performance on September 7.
TheĀ 6:00-8:30pm music program is presented by theĀ The Summit House and welcomed by theĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society.
The place will serve good drink and good food during the performance and the view is endless.

The famed music and dining venue high in theĀ Santa Cruz Mountains is 6 miles south of Los Gatos atĀ 23123 Santa Cruz Highway.
The Wildcat Mountain Ramblers will follow on Thursday, September 14.
Other bands will appear every Thursday evening in this FREE series.

NCBS Walker Creek Music Camp Scholarship Fund Accepting Donations For Fall 2017

TheĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society Walker Creek Music Camp Scholarship Fund is now collecting donations for theĀ September 28-October 1 Fall Camp.
TheĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization aka theĀ Santa Cruz Bluegrass Society, accepts donations and disburses scholarships. Donations to the fund are tax-deductible as allowed by law. Donors should consult their tax advisors. The Federal Tax ID No. is 94-2907716. Donors who do not need a tax deduction may donate money directly to the camp.
