Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival Set For Tres Pinos August 9-12, 2018

TheĀ Twenty-Fifth Annual Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival will be held at theĀ San Benito County Historical Park inĀ Tres Pinos (7 miles south of Hollister) for the third time onĀ August 9-12, 2018.

The festival benefiting the year-round work of theĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society was started inĀ 1994. NCBS uses the proceeds to further bluegrass music in theĀ San Francisco Bay Area, theĀ Monterey Bay Area and throughoutĀ Northern California.

Free RV & tent camping is included in multi-day tickets. There will be jamming, children’s activities, open mike stage, shade over the audience area, food & drink, late night shows, a raffle, the annual NCBS elections, and more.

Sonoma State University To Present Annual Green Music Center Bluegrass Festival On July 15

Sonoma State University’s Green Music Center will present its annual bluegrass festival on Sunday, July 15, 2018.

The Bluegrass & Craft Beer Festival will feature Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, Laurie Lewis & The Right Hands, and Phoebe Hunt & The Gatherers.

The 4th annual afternoon gathering will take place at the elegant Weill Hall & Lawn.

The event is welcomed by the Northern California Bluegrass Society.

SATURDAY, May 19 — Molly Tuttle Band, Phantoms of the High Country, Jeff Scroggins and Colorado, plus Bluegrass Pride.

SUNDAY, May 20 — Darol Anger’s Blur-Grass All-Stars, The Get Down Boys, The Page Turners with Bill Evans and Max Schwartz, plus North Country Blue.

The third annual gathering is currently the only bluegrass festival held in the East Bay.

NCBS To Welcome 14th Annual Riverdance Farms’ Pick & Gather Festival

TheĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society will welcome theĀ 14th Annual Pick & Gather Festival, set forĀ May 26-28 inĀ Livingston (near Merced).

TheĀ Memorial Day Weekend farm-to-table and bluegrass music (and beyond) festival will be presented byĀ Riverdance Farms and will feature a wide variety of music along with the chance to pick your own blueberries, cherries, and strawberries.

Camping in the walnut orchard is available, while swimming and otherĀ Merced River activities will round out the weekend. This is a relaxed, fun, bucolic weekend.

The FREEĀ Summit House Thursday Bluegrass Series will presentĀ The Wildcat Mountain Ramblers onĀ May 10 fromĀ 6:00-8:30pm.

The view at theĀ Summit House Beer Garden & Grill (top ofĀ Highway 178 miles south of Los Gatos) is worth the trip even without the music. Good food and drink will be served.

The ongoing weekly gathering is welcomed by theĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society.
