The Northern California Bluegrass Society/Santa Cruz Bluegrass Society will present the Santa Cruz Bluegrass Fair on SUNDAY, May 6, 2018.

The FREE Santa Cruz Bluegrass Fair will feature performances by The Down Beets, The Naked Bootleggers, AJ Lee & Jesse Fichman, The Juncos, Wildcat Mountain Ramblers, and more.

The annual Rite Of Spring at the Duck Pond Stage in San Lorenzo Park will run from Noon-6:00pm.

The longest-running bluegrass society gathering has been held on the first weekend in May since 1986.

NCBS Information Booth Ready For 2018 Bluegrass Festival Season — Now Is The Time To Send Flyers

The Northern California Bluegrass Society Information Booth will be at events all during the 2018 Northern California Live Music Season.

The booth will have flyers and timely advice about ALL area festivals, concerts, and workshops (including those events presented by the NCBS itself). The next outing will be the California Bluegrass Association Spring Campout in Turlock, April 16-22. The booth will appear at approximately 25 events this year (approximately every two weeks).

The service is FREE to both music presenters and music fans.

NCBS To Welcome The Pick & Gather Festival At Riverdance Farms In Livingston May 26-28

The Northern California Bluegrass Society will welcome the Pick & Gather Festival, set for May 26-28 on Memorial Day Weekend in Livingston (near Merced).

The farm and bluegrass music (and beyond) festival will be presented by Riverdance Farms and will feature a wide variety of music along with the chance to pick your own blueberries, cherries, and strawberries. Camping in the walnut orchard is available, while swimming and other Merced River activities will round out the weekend.

The band line-up will be announced soon.

Berkeley Bluegrass Festival Set For May 18-20 At The Freight & Salvage

The Berkeley Bluegrass Festival will be held at the Freight & Salvage Coffee House in Berkeley on May 18-20, 2018. Full festival and individual show tickets are available.

FRIDAY, May 18 — Laurie Lewis and the Right Hands with Molly Tuttle, Sean Watkins with the Bee Eaters, Crying Uncle.

SATURDAY, May 19 — Molly Tuttle Band, Phantoms of the High Country, Jeff Scroggins and Colorado.

SUNDAY, May 20 — Darol Anger’s Blur-Grass All-Stars, The Get Down Boys, The Page Turners with Bill Evans and Max Schwartz.

The Northern California Bluegrass Society will welcome this 3rd annual festival.

San Benito County Historical Park Will Host 25th Annual Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival

Welcome to the San Benito County Historical Park in Tres Pinos (7 miles south of Hollister).

The 25th Annual Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival will be held at the lovely San Benito County Historical Park on August 9-12, 2018.

The festival in the tiny community of Tres Pinos is a showcase of top California bluegrass bands. Discount tickets will soon be available on this website.

The event benefits the year-round work of the Northern California Bluegrass Society in promoting bluegrass music in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Monterey Bay Area and throughout Northern California.

Free RV & tent camping is included in multi-day tickets. There will be jamming, children’s activities, open mike stage, shade over the audience area, food & drink, and late night shows.

The Wildcat Mountain Ramblers Head For The Top Of The Mountain On Thursday April 12

The Wildcat Mountain Ramblers at the Summit House.

The Wildcat Mountain Ramblers are set to play at the top of the mountain at the FREE Thursday Bluegrass Series held at The Summit House, 6 miles south of Los Gatos, on Highway 17 on April 12. Time: 6:00-8:30pm.

The show is presented by The Summit House Beer Garden & Grill and welcomed by the Northern California Bluegrass Society. Good food and drink will be served.
