Purple Mountain Majesty To Perform At The Summit House On Highway 17 On October 29

Live Bluegrass MusicĀ has returned to theĀ Santa Cruz Mountains!Ā It is allĀ outdoors, of course, and with all the CoronavirusĀ safety rules.

Purple Mountain Majesty (led by banjoist Dave Magram) will perform on October 29Ā as part of theĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society-welcomedĀ Thursday Bluegrass Series,Ā which is presented by theĀ Summit House Beer Garden & GrillĀ at the top ofĀ Highway 17,Ā 6 miles south ofĀ Los Gatos.Ā FREE music at the establishment runsĀ 6:00-8:00pm. Good food and drink is served. Beautiful mountain views abound in all directions from the patio.

There Was No 2020 GOF Festival — But The Work Goes On For Hardworking NCBS Volunteers

There was no Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival at the San Benito County Historical Park in 2020, but the work of the beloved festival goes on. We want to thank the Northern California Bluegrass Society volunteers who have been taking care of the festival equipment as they plan for the future.

Thanks to Bruce Bellochio and Eric Burman for taking care of the Society’s equipment at the Historical Park, keeping it all dry and in good condition.

Thanks to Mike Fisher (with Bruce Bellochio and Joanne Tanner) for organizing the NCBS offsite storage facility, including storing all the new equipment that has been acquired (but not yet used) this year.

Thanks to Mike Russell, who has helped with various storage projects at the park over the past year.

It is great to know that bluegrass people keep things together even when times are tough. The NCBS Board of Directors is planning and looking forward to future GOF festivals just as soon as in-person events are possible. Thanks for your support!

All Bluegrass Folks deserve to be heard in the important 2020 Election that is officially on Tuesday, November 3, but is actually going on right now. Please don’t wait to vote the ballot you received in the mail.

Voting early is important this year, so mail or drop off your ballot for counting just as soon as you are ready.Ā Once you have returned your ballot, you can track its receipt and acceptance online.

Huck Finn Jubilee Will Be Online From Southern California On Sunday October 25, Hangtown Festival Ends Weekend

The virtual 2020 Huck Finn Jubilee Bluegrass Music Festival will be held as an afternoon livestream presentation on Sunday, October 25, 1:00-6:00pm. There are many familiar performers on the eclectic program, including our own Crying Uncle and quite a bit of other excellent bluegrass.

This is the Southern California institution that moved from Victorville to Ontario and now — online. You can choose your own ticket price — so the price is right!

The GOF 2020 Online Festival Is Archived For Your Viewing Enjoyment

If you didn’t have a chance to enjoy it as a livestream, you can still enjoy the 27th Annual Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival Online that took place on August 8, 2020.Ā The fab line-up was AJ Lee & Blue Summit,Ā Goat Hill Girls,Ā Brookdale Bluegrass Band andĀ Mike Fisher & Joanne Tanner.

This program has been archived and can be viewed online. The Northern California Bluegrass Society presented the virtual substitute show to replace theĀ  festival normally held at the San Benito County Historical Park in Tres Pinos.
