Santa Cruz Bluegrass Fair To Present The Wildcat Mountain Ramblers On May 8

The Wildcat Mountain Ramblers will perform on  May 8, 2021 at the Santa Cruz Bluegrass Fair to be held at The Summit House Beer Garden & Grill. Note new location.

The Northern California Bluegrass Society/Santa Cruz Bluegrass Society and the Summit House will present the fair on four Saturdays, April 17 & 24 and May 1 & 8. from Noon to 4:00pm.

Three bands will perform in a no admission show each Saturday afternoon in an outdoor restaurant setting with beautiful mountain views. The Summit House will offer informal food and drinks. The Summit House is a regular bluegrass venue atop Highway 17 in the Santa Cruz Mountains at 23123 Santa Cruz Highway, (6 miles south of Los Gatos).

Reservations are recommended and Strict Coronavirus Rules will be enforced. Phone: (408) 353-2700.

The usual Bluegrass Fair location at the Duck Pond Stage in San Lorenzo Park in downtown Santa Cruz is not available this year.

Coming To The Summit House This Saturday March 20: BanjerDan’s DangerBand

The NCBS-Welcomed Bluegrass Series at the Summit House will present BanjerDan’s DangerBand in a FREE show this SATURDAY AFTERNOON, March 20, 2:00-4:00pm.

The top of Highway 17 in the Santa Cruz Mountains is where live bluegrass is presented by the Summit House Beer Garden & Grill. With Coronavirus Restrictions now loosened by the state, the series happens every Saturday afternoon. This show with limited seating is at 23123 Santa Cruz Highway, 6 miles south of Los Gatos. The Summit House will offer food and drinks.

Mission Blue To Take The Stage At The Santa Cruz Bluegrass Fair On Saturday April 24

On Saturday, April 24, the Pacifica bluegrass band Mission Blue will perform at the 2021 Santa Cruz Bluegrass Fair to be held at The Summit House Beer Garden & Grill.

The FREE Leadership Bluegrass Online Series: Navigating the Digital Jungle will continue on Thursday, March 18 at 10:00am Pacific Time. This week’s topic is The Business of Education: Four Tips to Becoming More Effective & Profitable, which will be followed by a performance from German bluegrass band Johnny & The Yooahoos!
Thursday’s panel features our own Evie Ladin (Oakland, Leadership Bluegrass Class of 2020), plus IBMA Mentor of the Year Annie Savage and Leadership Bluegrass Class of 2020 graduates Ben Wright and Dave Howard.

Northern California Bluegrass Musicians who have signed up to be listed in the NCBS Directory are available to give Online Lessons during the panedemic.

Interested students can check the directory and arrange lessons with their favorite musicians (the price is between teacher and student). The convenient Directory is listed under Resources in the index on the left side of this website. This is a way for bluegrass students & fans to support area musicians during the Coronavirus Pandemic.
