San Benito County Historical Park Escapes Significant Storm Damage, Needs Clean-Up
The San Benito County Historical Park has (so far) escaped significant storm damage despite high water in the creek next to Highway 25 at the front of the park. The rain will continue for the next week. Clean-up at the park will take some time.
The park is the venue for the NCBS Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival, held each August.
Bluegrass Venue Pie Ranch Has Suffered Storm Damage
The venerable bluegrass music and dance venue The Pie Ranch in Pescadero sustained significant wind and flood damage in the recent storms. The barn and farm hosted monthly dances with live bluegrass music and was also the location for the filming of the new AJ Lee & Blue Summit music video. The venue is named for the pie-slice shape of the ranch’s land off Highway One, which is also operated as an organic farm and farmstand.
Damages are estimated to be $100,000 and Donations to help with recovery are now accepted.

Bluegrass Venue Devil’s Canyon Brewing Company In San Carlos Damaged By Flooding
The Devil’s Canyon Brewing Company in San Carlos has been damaged by flooding from the recent rains and is closed for repairs. The venue has been used each December for the past decade for the NCBS-welcomed Holiday Hootenanny show. The repairs are expected to take several months.
