The deadline to purchase raffle tickets for a custom-made banjo from the Pisgah Banjo Company has been Extended To March 10. The previous deadline was February 28.
Pisgah Banjos is excited to offer a chance to win a unique custom banjo! Raffle tickets are $20 each. All proceeds will benefit theĀ Arnold Shultz Fund, a scholarship fund dedicated to people of color pursuing traditional, old-time, and bluegrass music.Ā The first $10,000 raised in the raffle will be gifted to theĀ Black Banjo Reclamation ProjectĀ of Oakland from the Arnold Shultz FundĀ to support a gourd banjo building workshop in the black banjo community.
The prize isĀ a custom-builtĀ Pisgah BanjoĀ made from blonde Curly Maple, featuring a Dobson tone ring, 12ā³ pot, slotted headstock, and brass plated s-scoop with an engraved image ofĀ Arnold Shultz. Pisgah Banjos chose to benefit the Arnold Shultz fund as a way to help re-appropriate the history of the banjo.
The Arnold Shultz Fund is a project of theĀ IBMA Foundation, which is affiliated with theĀ International Bluegrass Music Association.Ā NCBSĀ is a longtime organizational member of the IBMA and NCBS past presidentĀ Michael HallĀ is a member of the Foundationās board of directors.

The performance schedule for the NCBS-welcomed Brookdale Bluegrass & American Roots Festival has been announced by the presenters Brookdale Bluegrass & The Brookdale Lodge. The festival will be held March 24-26 at the Brookdale Lodge on Highway 9 in Brookdale.
Late additions: Sunny Side Of The Mountain will close the afternoon show on Saturday and Acidgrass will close the festival on Sunday.

TheĀ Northern California Bluegrass SocietyĀ is now collecting donations for theĀ NCBS Walker Creek Music Camp Scholarship Fund.Ā NCBS/SCBSĀ is anĀ Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) Organization.Ā The NCBS Walker Creek Scholarship Fund Committee awards scholarships twice each year to assist deserving students.Ā The next round of scholarships will benefit attendees at theĀ 2023 spring session.

The NCBS Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival will have No Special Covid Rules in 2023.
The festival will follow the requirements, if any, of state and local authorities that are in effect at the time of the festival.
The 29th Annual GOF will be held August 10-13, 2023 at the San Benito County Historical Park in Tres Pinos, 7 miles south of Hollister. The event is a benefit for the Northern California Bluegrass Society.
