The 31st Annual Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival 2025 will be held August 7-10, 2025.
Our largest event, the Good Old Fashioned has been held each summer since 1994. It features three wonderful days of California bands on the main stage, as well as hot campground pickers on the side stage between main acts. The GOF is also legendary among festival fans for both the quality and quantity of campground jamming.
The festival takes place on the second weekend in August at San Benito County Historical Park, just south of Hollister. There is a tree-filled, shady campground for tent camping and a spacious meadow for RVs. The weather in August is typically comfortably warm during the day, with nights that range from mild to cold (pack layers!) The GOF is kid friendly, with a Kids on Stage program for budding bluegrass musicians and a wonderful volunteer-staffed crafts and activities corral next to the audience area.
Directions:
The Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival is held at the San Benito County Historical Park, eight miles south of Hollister on Highway 25 (also known as Airline Highway).
Suggested Routes to SBCHP:
From the North (S.F. & the Bay Area): Take Highway 101 to 25, through Hollister, or (from the Central Valley) Highway 5 to 152 to 156 through Hollister to 25; either way, follow 25 through Tres Pinos after a couple of miles watch for the signs directing you to the Festival site on the right (if you reach Bolado Park, you’ve gone too far).
From the South: Coming this direction it depends on how far south you are starting from! Either Highway 101 to 198 to 25, through Paicines approximately 5 miles to the Festival site on the left. Or Highway 101 to 156 through Hollister to 25 south, through Tres Pinos, to the Festival site on the right. Or take Highway 5 to 152 to 156, through Hollister to 25 south, through Tres Pinos, to the Festival site on the right (look for the Festival signs).
From the West: Highway 1 to 129 to 101 South, to 156, through Hollister, to 25 south, through Tres Pinos, watch for the signs directing you to the Festival site on the right. (you can use the cutoff from 156 to Union right and it runs into 25 right to the fairgrounds).
