NCBS Information Booth Set To Begin 2017 Season In Northern California

The Northern California Bluegrass Society Information Booth will be at events all during the 2017 Live Music Season in Northern California.

The booth will have flyers and sage advice about ALL area festivals, concerts, and workshops (including those events presented by the NCBS itself). The first festival outing for the 2017 season will be the March 10-12 Brookdale Bluegrass Spring Festival in Felton. The booth will appear at approximately 25 events this year (about every two weeks or so).

The service is FREE to both music presenters and music fans.

Wildcat Mountain Ramblers & Stoney Mountain Ramblers To Appear Live December 12 On KKUP Monday Night Bluegrass

Host bands from two Northern California Bluegrass Society-welcomed events will perform live December 12 on Monday Night Bluegrass on KKUP Radio, 91.5FM in the South Bay & Monterey Bay Areas and Online.

The Stoney Mountain Ramblers (Menlo Park) host the annual Holiday Hootenanny at the Devil’s Canyon Brewing Company in San Carlos. The band will play on air and discuss the FREE 2016 multi-band gathering, set for this Friday evening, December 16.

The Wildcat Mountain Ramblers (Los Gatos) host the year-old Thursday Bluegrass Series at the Summit House Beer Garden & Grill near Los Gatos. The band will play live on air and discuss the FREE weekly performances featuring various bluegrass bands in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

The host of Monday Night Bluegrass is Mike Russell. Michael Hall will be on hand to interview the bands. The program will run 6:00-9:00pm.

Northern California Bluegrass Society Walker Creek Scholarship Fund Assists Deserving Music Camp Students At This Weekend’s Fall Session

The committee that runs the Northern California Bluegrass Society Walker Creek Music Camp Scholarship Fund has awarded two partial scholarships to deserving students for the fall camp, which will be held this weekend, October 6-9, 2016, near Petaluma.

One recipient is a 13-year-old aspiring bass player whose father has been unemployed for much of the past year. The other is a college student who plays banjo & guitar and will earn the balance of her camp tuition by assisting with the camp’s youth program.
