One Week Reminder: The IBMA Foundation’s Strings for Dreams Bluegrass Raffle is underway and will END ON MAY 12. The prize for the 4th annual raffle is a 2011 Golden Era Deering Banjo with a hardshell case and other accessories, valued at $4,000. Longtime IBMA Foundation supporter Casey Henry donated the banjo. Previously owned by Casey’s student Betty Fisher, the instrument is in very good condition and has a powerful tone. Tickets will be offered at $20 for one or $100 for six tickets. One-Day Reminder: Friday, March 29 is the deadline to enter the Pisgah Banjo Company raffle to benefit the IBMA Foundation’s Arnold Shultz Fund and the Black Banjo Reclamation Project.

Thank you for supporting the Foundation’s Shultz fund, which encourages people of color to get more involved in bluegrass music. Likewise, the BBRP encourages young blacks to reclaim their heritage by learning to play the banjo.
