Four Week Reminder: Applications For IBMA Foundation Arnold Shultz Grants Due By January 31

Four Week Reminder: The deadline for the initial round of applications for the IBMA Foundation Arnold Shultz Fund that supports bluegrass participation by people of color is January 31, 2021.

Northern California Bluegrass Society members and their friends are encouraged to apply for this important new grant opportunity.

Grants can be used to support a wide range of support and outreach initiatives. The NCBS is a longtime organizational member of the International Bluegrass Music Association, which is affiliated with the Foundation. Musicians Offering Online Lessons Are Listed In NCBS Online Directory

Northern California Bluegrass Musicians are listed in the NCBS Directory to give Online Lessons. This is a way for students/fans to support area musicians during the Coronavirus Pandemic.

The directory is a FREE service of the Northern California Bluegrass Society. Interested students can check the directory and arrange ONLINE LESSONS with their favorite musicians (the price is between teacher and student).

The convenient Directory is listed under Resources in the index on the left side of this website. Musicians can sign up to offer lessons at <webmaster@ncbs.us>.

One-Day Reminder: December 31 Is Last Day To Donate To Support Local Bluegrass In 2020

One-Day Reminder: Now is the time to donate up to $300 to the Northern California Bluegrass Society/Santa Cruz Bluegrass Society. The CARES Act added a new, one-year-only $300 Charitable Contribution Deduction. The Deadline is December 31, 2020.

You can write off up to $300 in cash donations on your tax return when you file your 2020 tax return next spring, even if you do not itemize. As of January 1, 2021, you will be required to itemize deductions to write off charitable giving when you file your taxes.
