The Historic 30th Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival is set for August 8-11, 2024. at the San Benito County Historical Park in Tres Pinos. The gathering is a benefit for the Northern California Bluegrass Society. The then Santa Cruz Bluegrass Society staged the first GOF next door at Bolado Park in 1994.

Bands will include NCBS favorites Eric Burman & The Brookdale Bluegrass band, BanjerDan Mazer, The Courthouse Ramblers, Brent Pierce & Acid Grass, The Gilroy Drifters, and more.

The Northern California Bluegrass Society welcomes the 2023 return of the International Bluegrass Music Association World Of Bluegrass. The NCBS is a longtime organizational member of the IBMA. Many Northern Californians will be in attendance.
The convention and festival will be held September 26-30 in Raleigh, NC. The convention will be held at the Raleigh Convention Center, while the huge free weekend festival that follows will be held on stages throughout the downtown area.
Palo Alto native and former NCBS member Molly Tuttle (now of Nashville) will host the IBMA Awards ceremony during the convention. AJ Lee & Blue Summit will be a part of a special concert at the Red Hat Amphitheater.

Monday Night Bluegrass will feature both a tribute to the late bluegrass broadcaster “Cousin” Al Knoth and a live musical performance by the Monterey-based band Sunny Side Of The Mountain on September 11, 6:00-9:00pm. The program is on KKUP radio, 91.5FM in the South Bay & Monterey Bay areas and is online at <www.kkup.org>.
Program Host and NCBS Vice-President Mike Russell worked with Al on some of his shows during his long and distinguished career. Mike will be joined on this special program by Al’s friends during the first half of the broadcast. Then the band will perform live during the last half of the show.
