NCBS Welcomes The CBA Entry In The SF Pride Parade On Sunday June 25

TheĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society welcomes the historicĀ California Bluegrass Association Bluegrass Pride Float in the San Francisco LGBTQ Pride Parade on Sunday, June 25, 2017 inĀ San Francisco.

The CBA parade entry will feature live bluegrass bands playing on the float itself and aĀ Marching Unit Open To Bluegrass Fans of any sexual orientation.

If you are not able to walk in the parade, you can ride on a FREE bluegrass scooter arranged byĀ Deirdre Donovan.

The parade unit will encourage everyone to enjoy bluegrass music in Northern California and everyone is also invited to the open bluegrass jam that will follow the parade. Bring your instrument and join in!

The 24th annual benefit festival forĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society projects all year long will be heldĀ at theĀ San Benito County Historical Park inĀ Tres Pinos (7 miles south of Hollister, next to the festival’s first home at Bolado Park).

Del & Dawg To Perform At Sonoma State University Bluegrass Festival On July 9th

The Del & Dawg Bluegrass Band — Del McCoury &Ā David Grisman — will perform at theĀ 3rd Annual Sonoma State University Bluegrass Festival on the SSU campus inĀ Rohnert Park onĀ Sunday, July 9, 2017.

The line-up also includes Mark O’Connor & The O’Connor Family Band andĀ Sierra Hull.

Sonoma County local Grisman books this event in addition to his performance.

The festival will take place atĀ The Weill Hall & Lawn, Green Music Center and is welcomed by theĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society.

Redwood City Civic Cultural Commission Awards Grant To Support The January 26-28 NCBS Bluegrass On Broadway Festival

TheĀ City Of Redwood City Civic Cultural Commission has awarded a grant that provides base funding for theĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society’s 11th Annual Bluegrass On Broadway Festival.

TheĀ event will be held at various Redwood City venues the weekend ofĀ January 26-28, 2018.

The FREE community event includes theĀ Northern California Bluegrass Awards on January 27 and theĀ NCBS Bluegrass Film Festival on January 28. Other live music is presented in the restaurants, bars, and other venues around the city, creating a fun, affordable bluegrass weekend for residents and visitors alike. The grant is subject to final approval by theĀ Redwood City Council.

Redwood City is the Pennisula Home Of Bluegrass Music, with frequent shows in the city’s music clubs and the inclusion of bluegrass music in civic celebrations and public concerts.

Wildcat Mountain Ramblers Will Play At The Summit House On Thursday June 8

Highway 17 leads to the Summit House and bluegrass music.

TheĀ Thursday Bluegrass Series at theĀ Summit House Beer Garden & Grill will present The Wildcat Mountain Ramblers from 6:00-8:30pm this comingĀ Thursday, June 8.

This is a FREE show. Good food and drink will be served during the show.

The series is presented by theĀ Summit HouseĀ and welcomed by theĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society.Ā Robert Cornelius books the bands.

TheĀ Summit House is located atĀ 23123 Santa Cruz Highway, Los GatosĀ (six miles south ofĀ Los Gatos) onĀ Highway 17. There is free bluegrass every Thursday night.
