Annual NCBS Volunteer Thank You Party Will Be Held On Saturday, October 14

The Northern California Bluegrass Society will honor all the volunteers and bands from Society events and projects held over the past year at the annual NCBS Volunteer Thank You Party, set for Saturday, October 14 at an undisclosed location.

Invitations have been sent to all volunteers. If you have not received yours, contact Michael Hall, the NCBS Volunteer Party Chair.

Here is All You Need To Know To Go to the 2nd Annual Mountain Music Festival on Sunday, October 1:

The Festival: The Emma Prusch Farm Park Foundation & The City Of San Jose present this FREE benefit for the park. The Northern California Bluegrass Society welcomes the only bluegrass festival held in San Jose. The family-friendly event will run 10:00am-5:00pm. with food and crafts booths, and fun farm activities and tours.

Venue: Emma Prusch Farm Park is a beautiful city park dedicated to farm life in the old pre-urban Santa Clara Valley. It is close to the intersection of freeways 101, 280 and 680 in San Jose.

Cost: FREE admission & parking.

Directions:

The park is located at 647 South King Road (at Story Road) in southern central San Jose, northeast of the 101/280/680 interchange and easily accessible from the freeways using marked exits for those streets. Free onsite parking is available.

Weather: Perfect! Sunny. High 80, Low 54.

Bring: Folding chairs or blankets and money for food and drink. The music area is shaded, but you may want a hat for wandering around the grounds.

Bluegrass Fun: This is the second year for the new bluegrass version of this decades-old event. Last year, many music fans checked it out and had a good time. This year, we expect all of your bluegrass friends to come! See you there!

Mountain Music Festival Set For Sunday, October 1 At Prusch Park In San Jose

The Northern California Bluegrass Society welcomes the FREE Mountain Music Festival to be held 10:00am-5:00pm on Sunday, October 1, 2017.

The family-friendly festival is presented by the Prusch Farm Park Foundation and the City Of San Jose.

The festival will be held at the lovely Emma Prusch Farm Park, located near the intersection of freeways 101, 280 and 680 at 647 South King Road (at Story Road) in southern central San Jose.

This is the only bluegrass festival held in San Jose.

Californians Head For Raleigh & The 2017 IBMA World Of Bluegrass This Week

IBMA World Of Bluegrass Convention

The International Bluegrass Music Association World Of Bluegrass Convention will run September 26-30, 2017 in Raleigh, NC.

The Northern California Bluegrass Society is a longtime organizational member of the IBMA.

Many Northern California bluegrass musicians and leaders will play prominent roles at the convention and others will be enjoying the scene.

Most attendees from the West Coast plan their trip months in advance. If you are not attending this year, now is a good time to begin considering a trip to the convention in September 2018.
