Line-Up Announced For May 5 Santa Cruz Bluegrass Fair At The Duck Pond Stage

The Northern California Bluegrass Society/Santa Cruz Bluegrass Society has announced the line-up for the Santa Cruz Bluegrass Fair on Sunday, May 5, 2019, Noon-6:00pm.

The Bands: Blue Summit, Luke Abbott, The Down Beets, Mission Blue, & The Harmony Grits.

The fun, FREE annual event will be held at the Duck Pond Stage in San Lorenzo Park, near the courthouse in Santa Cruz.

The lovely afternoon will be a fine time to gather friends to enjoy the glorious Santa Cruz spring bluegrass weather. A raffle will give you a chance to get tickets for great summer festivals. The NCBS Information Booth will have flyers for all the upcoming musical opportunities you need in your life.

Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival Is Set For San Benito Historical Park In Tres Pinos Second Weekend Of August

Ain’t Nothing Like It In The World: The Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival will be held the second weekend of August, August 8-11, 2019.

Top California bluegrass musicians and their fans will gather to enjoy a fun, friendly weekend of bluegrass music that will benefit the year-round good works of the Northern California Bluegrass Society.

The charming home of the 26-year-old GOF festival is the San Benito County Historical Park in Tres Pinos (7 miles south of Hollister on Highway 25), where we are welcomed by our friends in the San Benito County Historical Society.

 

Peter Rowan, Blue Summit To Head List of Performers At The Spring Brookdale Bluegrass Festival

Peter Rowan and Blue Summit will head the list of performers for the Spring 2019 Brookdale Bluegrass Festival, set for the San Benito County Historical Park in Tres Pinos on the weekend of April 19-21, 2019. Free camping is included in all tickets, which will bring us a lively jamming and social scene.

The festival has been presented by Brookdale Bluegrass multiple times each year since 1998 and has always been welcomed by the Northern California Bluegrass Society.

NCBS To Support New Young Adult Scholarship Fund At Walker Creek Camp

At the suggestion of NCBS Board Member Jesse Fichman, Walker Creek Music Camp Director Ingrid Noyes has created the new Young Adult Scholarship Fund to assist students ages 18-30, an underrepresented group at the camp.

The new fund will be eligible to receive some of the proceeds from the Northern California Bluegrass Society Walker Creek Music Camp Scholarship Fund, much of which is devoted to scholarships for children at the camp. The support from NCBS donors is one source of tuition assistance at the twice-yearly camps.

NCBS scholarship awards will be announced soon for the Walker Creek Spring 2019 Music Camp near Petaluma, set for the weekend of April 11-14, 2019.

Spring Brookdale Bluegrass Festival To Feature Free Camping, Indoor Performances

The Spring 2019 Brookdale Bluegrass Festival will be held on April 19-21, 2019 to take advantage of better camping weather in April. Previously, the festival was held in March. All performances will be indoors. Free camping is included with all tickets.

Last Chance To Donate To NCBS Scholarship Fund For Spring Walker Creek Music Camp

Now is your last chance to donate to the Northern California Bluegrass Society Walker Creek Music Camp Scholarship Fund for students attending the Walker Creek Spring 2019 Music Camp near Petaluma the weekend of April 11-14, 2019.

NCBS is a Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) Organization that manages the scholarship fund and will soon make the spring awards. The camp is run each spring and fall by Ingrid Noyes at the Walker Creek Ranch.
