Sonoma State University’s Bluegrass Festival will be held on campus at the Weill Hall & Lawn (Green Music Center) in Rohnert Park. on Sunday, July 21 (Note new date).
Indoor and outdoor seating will be available at the event. The festival is welcomed by The Northern California Bluegrass Society.
The Steep Canyon Rangers will headline and The Dawg Trio will also perform. More bluegrass music will be heard at the preliminary Craft Beer Festival at the same location.
The City Of Redwood City Arts Commission (formerly, the Civic Cultural Commission) has awarded a grant that provides key funding for the Northern California Bluegrass Society’s Bluegrass On Broadway Festival.
The 13th Annual event will be held at various Redwood City venues on the weekend of January 24-26, 2020.
The FREE community gathering includes the Northern California Bluegrass Awards and the NCBS Bluegrass Film Festival. Other live music is presented in the restaurants, bars, and other venues around the city, creating an enjoyable bluegrass weekend for both locals and visitors.
The grant is subject to final approval by the Redwood City Council later this month.
Redwood City, located in the middle of the SF Bay Area, is the Peninsula Home Of Bluegrass Music, with frequent shows in the city’s music clubs and the inclusion of bluegrass music in civic celebrations and public concerts. This year’s summer Bluegrass Pub In The Park series will be staged monthly June through September in various neighborhood parks by the Redwood City Department Of Parks Recreation & Community Services.
The Rose Valley Thorns will be first time performers on the main stage at the 26th Annual Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival, August 8-11, 2019. The fun, relaxed gathering of friends and family at the San Benito County Historical Park in Tres Pinos is an annual benefit that supports the year-around work of the Northern California Bluegrass Society.

The Thursday Bluegrass Series at the Summit House at the top of Highway 17 will stage The Wildcat Mountain Ramblers on June 13. Showtime is 6:00-8:30pm.
The Summit House Beer Garden & Grill, high in the Santa Cruz Mountains 6 miles south of Los Gatos) presents the FREE weekly shows, which are welcomed by the Northern California Bluegrass Society. Good food and drink will be served.
