NCBS Member Joe Weed of Los Gatos assembled 32 acoustic musicians from around the world on their I-Phone Video Screens to record “Waltz Violindo.” The performance has since gone viral on the internet during the Coronavirus Crisis. 8:00am — International Bluegrass Music Association Awards Announcement — SiriusXM Bluegrass Junction will broadcast the live-from-Nashville announcement of the 2020 IBMA Award Nominees, Bluegrass Hall of Fame Inductees, and IBMA Distinguished Achievement Award Recipients. The NCBS is a longtime organizational member of the IBMA. FREE (NCBS welcomed).
6:00pm — Denver Bluegrass Allstars Benefit Concert for the new Arnold Shultz Fund at the IBMA Foundation. The fund will support initiatives for people of color in bluegrass music. The Denver Bluegrass Allstars are: Andy Hall and Chris Pandolfi (The Infamous Stringdusters), Paul Hoffman (Greensky Bluegrass), Greg Garrison (Leftover Salmon), and flatpicking champion Tyler Grant. Voluntary Donations will be accepted. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the fund. FREE (NCBS welcomed).
