Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival Preview On The Saturday August 6 Bluegrass Signal Radio Program

A preview of the storied return of the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival will be presented on Peter Thompson’s Bluegrass Signal radio program this Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 5:00pm.

The program will be on KALW-San Francisco at 91.7FM and Online.

If you miss the original broadcast, the program will be available on demand for one week at https://www.kalw.org/kalw-music-player (select ‘Bluegrass Signal’) and will also be broadcast four times on www.BlueGrassCountry.org during the week of Aug. 22-28, 2022.

The program will present music from many bands playing the August 11-14, 2022 festival, which will be held at the San Benito County Historical Park in Tres Pinos. The GOF is a benefit for the Northern California Bluegrass Society.

For those who choose to vote in person at the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival, paper ballots will be provided. The onsite voting will take place on Saturday, August 13, 2022, 10:00am-5:00pm at the NCBS Booth at the San Benito County Historical Park, 8300 Airline Highway in Tres Pinos.

The Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival will return August 11-14, 2022 after a two-year absence due to Covid. There will be plenty of tickets at the gate. Tickets are also available on this website.

There will be a full schedule of great music on four stages, including the popular ‘Tweener Stage that alternates with the Main Stage and a new stage — The Lantern Stage on Thursday evening. The First Stage will begin on Friday morning.

Camping At The Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival August 11-14

Camping is easy and fun at the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival, August 11-14, 2022. Free camping is included with multi-day tickets. Festival Gates open at Noon on Thursday, August 11.

The festival is held at the San Benito County Historical Park, 8300 Airline Highway, Tres Pinos (7 miles south of Hollister on Route 25). The park features grass, trees, showers, and restrooms. NCBS will have additional porta potties available.

Bring drinking water. There is plenty of water onsite for all other purposes.

The historical park is near Bolado Park (San Benito County Fairgrounds), which offers full hookups with water, sewer, and power.

Food vendors will be at the festival. The restaurants of “Downtown” Tres Pinos are about a mile away, and more restaurants, along with grocery stores, are 7 miles away in Hollister.

There will be plenty of tickets at the gate, or tickets can be purchased on this website.

Cactus Bob & The Prairie Flower To Open GOF Festival On New Lantern Stage Thursday Evening

Northern California Bluegrass Society favorites Cactus Bob & The Prairie Flower (Bob Cole & Chris Stevenson) will open the 2022 Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival on the new Lantern Stage at 8:00pm on Thursday Evening, August 11. The audience will light the informal stage by bringing their own camp lights.

The 28th GOF Festival will run August 11-14 at the San Benito County Historical Park in Tres Pinos.
