The Handsome Ladies (Raleigh, NC chapter) and the Pinecone — Piedmont Council of Traditional Music will present an online discussion on Women In Bluegrass on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 3:30pm Pacific Time. The FREE panel presentation (donations accepted) features an interesting and eclectic group of experienced bluegrass performers, songwriters, and organizers. NCBS Members and their friends are encouraged to attend.

Northern California Bluegrass Musicians are listed in the NCBS DirectoryĀ to giveĀ Online Lessons.Ā This is a way for students/fans to support area musicians during the Coronavirus Pandemic.Ā The directory is a FREE service of the Northern California Bluegrass Society. Interested students can check the directory and arrange ONLINE LESSONS with their favorite musicians (the price is between teacher and student).Ā The convenient Directory is listed under Resources in the index on the left side of this website.Ā Musicians can sign up to offer lessons at <webmaster@ncbs.us>.

One-Day Reminder: December 31 Is Last Day To Donate To Support Local Bluegrass In 2020

One-Day Reminder: NowĀ is the time to donate up to $300 to the Northern California Bluegrass Society/Santa Cruz Bluegrass Society.Ā The CARES ActĀ added a new,Ā one-year-onlyĀ $300 Charitable Contribution Deduction. The Deadline is December 31, 2020.

You can write offĀ up to $300 in cash donations on your tax return when you file your 2020 tax return next spring, even if you do not itemize. As of January 1, 2021, you will be required to itemize deductions to write off charitable giving when you file your taxes.

NCBS Members & Their Friends Are Encouraged To Apply For Arnold Shultz Grants From IBMA Foundation

Northern California Bluegrass Society members and their friends are encouraged to apply for a grant from the new IBMA Foundation Arnold Shultz Fund that supports bluegrass participation by people of color. The deadline for the initial round of applications is January 31, 2021.

Grants can be used to support a wide range of creative initiatives. The NCBS is a longtime organizational member of the International Bluegrass Music Association, which is affiliated with the Foundation. NCBS President Michael Hall is a member of the IBMA Foundation Board of Directors.
