TheĀ Northern California Bluegrass SocietyĀ welcomes theĀ 7th AnnualĀ Berkeley Bluegrass Festival, set forĀ April 21-23Ā at theĀ Freight & Salvage.Ā This Berkeley event is the only bluegrass festival in theĀ East Bay.

Laurie Lewis, Peter Rowan,Ā and theĀ Dry Branch Fire SquadĀ will headline. Other acts and workshops will fill the weekend.

IBMA Foundation Raffle Runs Through May 12, Supports Bluegrass Philanthropy

The annual raffle that supports theĀ IBMA FoundationĀ isĀ on nowĀ and will run throughĀ May 12, 2023. Now is the time to get your tickets and support bluegrass music!Ā The main prize is a vintageĀ 1967 Martin D-35 Guitar with hardshell case, strap, stand, and other accessories valued at $5,000.Ā The other totally unique prize is a pair of handmade (in your size) cowboy boots from master boot makerĀ Lisa Sorrell. Live Bluegrass Music Returns To KKUP Monday Night Bluegrass On April 10

Live in-studio music will return to KKUP Radio’s Monday Night BluegrassĀ on April 10, 2023. The program host is NCBS Vice-PresidentĀ Mike Russell and the live music emcee is NCBS Past President Michael Hall.

On this Monday’s show, some guys who know the Stoney Mountain Ramblers really well — The Parallel Universe Boys — will perform and NCBS President Eric Burman will be interviewed. Tune In & Turn On!

The bluegrass program is on every Monday nightĀ 6:00-9:00pm with a different host each week. Now that Covid is (sorta) behind us, live bands will play on the show on second Mondays for your dining and dancing pleasure!

NCBS Party For Volunteers & Members Is Set For July 8 At Loch Lomond

The Northern California Bluegrass Society’s Gathering for NCBS MembersĀ andĀ VolunteersĀ will be held onĀ Saturday, July 8, 2023Ā atĀ Loch Lomond ParkĀ (City Of Santa Cruz Park) near Felton.

The FREE event will feature bluegrass bands, jamming with your friends, picnicking, the natural beauty of the Santa Cruz Mountains, & plenty of fun and relaxation!

28-30 – Two Day Town (Campout), Lake Del Valle, Livermore. (Note that there will be no Two Day Town Festival this year.)

Live In-Studio Music To Return To KKUP’s Monday Night Bluegrass April 10

Following the lifting of Covid-era restrictions, live in-studio live music will return to KKUP Radio’s Monday Night Bluegrass program on the second Monday each month, beginning on April 10, 2023. The program host is NCBS Vice-President Mike Russell and the live music emcee is NCBS past president Michael Hall.

Bands are being booked now for the remainder of the year. Interested bands should contact Mike Russell at <squelch@pacbell.net>.
