The 13th Annual Pick & Gather Festival presented by Riverdance Farms in Livingston (near Merced) will be held on Saturday, Sunday & Monday, May 27-29, 2017. (Note the new and extended Memorial Day Weekend dates for this year’s event.)
The Brookdale Bluegrass Band will headline, joined by a full schedule of performers to be announced.
The event will offer live music, camping, fruit in season for picking, good food and information about organic farming, river education, and swimming in the Merced River. Workshops will include music, flyfishing, kayaking, and more.
The annual gathering is welcomed by the Northern California Bluegrass Society.
On Saturday, May 20, 2017,Redwood City will celebrate its 150th Anniversary as a city with a FREE celebration, starting with a great bluegrass music concert featuring 27strings and The Stoney Mountain Ramblers on the Main Street Stage in downtown Redwood City.
The bluegrass begins at Noon in an area where multiple restaurants offer outdoor seating with a great view of the stage — perfect for a relaxed lunch outing with friends. Other seating is also available if you don’t wish to eat during the 2-hour show.
Other music will follow on the Main Street and Courthouse Square stages throughout the afternoon and evening.
The Northern California Bluegrass Society helped bring bluegrass music to the historical party and the famed NCBS Information Booth will be there to welcome everyone during the bluegrass show. Ya’ll stop by and say hello!

Good Times at the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival!
The 24th Annual Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival at the San Benito County Historical Park (next to Bolado Park) in Tres Pinos (7 miles south of Hollister) will be held August 10-13, 2017.

The festival is a friendly, unique gathering of friends and family making music for friends and family and is the place to meet everyone in the area bluegrass community in a fun, relaxed setting.
NCBS welcomes the CBA Bluegrass San Francisco Pride Parade Float & Benefit Concert.
The Northern California Bluegrass Society welcomes the historic California Bluegrass Association Bluegrass Pride Floatin the San Francisco LGBTQ Pride Parade on June 25, 2017 in San Francisco, as well as the supporting May 5 benefit concert.
CBA PRIDE FLOAT
The CBA parade entry will feature live bluegrass bands playing on the float itself and a Marching Unit Open To Bluegrass Fans of any sexual orientation.
The parade float will encourage everyone to enjoy bluegrass music in Northern California.
Everyone is invited to the open bluegrass jam that will follow the parade.

A Benefit Concert will be held at Ashkenaz, 1317 San Pablo Ave,Berkeley at 8:00pm on Friday, May 5 to help raise money for the CBA float.
The line-up for the benefit concert includes Molly Tuttle, Laurie Lewis, Kathy Kallick, Suzy Thompson, Tom Bekeny, Larry Cohea, Tom Rozum, Allegra Thompson, Brandon Godman & more.

The annual election for the Northern California Bluegrass Society Board Of Directors will be held at the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival at the San Benito County Historical Park in Tres Pinos on Saturday, August 12, 2017, 10:00am-5:00pm, and by mail.

Santa Cruz Mountains favorites The Goat Hill Girls and The Wildcat Mountain Ramblers will play the first two Thursdays in May as part of the Northern California Bluegrass Society-welcomed FREE Thursday Bluegrass Series presented by the Summit House Beer Garden & Grill.
Fine food and drink will be served as the music runs 6:00-8:30pm. The Summit House is located at 23123 Santa Cruz Highway, Los Gatos (six miles south of Los Gatos) on Highway 17. Great views abound in every direction while the band plays and the sun sets.
