SEPTEMBER

26-30 — IBMA World Of Bluegrass, Raleigh Convention Center, Raleigh, NC. (NCBS is a longtime organizational member of IBMA)

OCTOBER

1 — Mountain Music Festival, Emma Prusch Farm Park, San Jose. FREE. (NCBS-welcomed)

11-15 — San Francisco Bluegrass & Old Time Festival, various venues, San Francisco. (NCBS-welcomed)

14 — NCBS Volunteer Thank You Party, undisclosed location.

The Northern California Bluegrass Society will honor and entertain the loyal, hard-working volunteers and bands from all of the various events and projects over the past year at the NCBS Volunteer Thank You Party on Saturday, October 14, 2017.

Performance Schedule Announced For FREE October 1 Mountain Music Festival At San Jose’s Prusch Park

NCBS welcomes the Mountain Music Festival.

The performance schedule has been announced for the Sunday, October 1, 2017 Mountain Music Festival at Emma Prusch Farm Park in San Jose.

SUNDAY, October 1

The festival is presented by the Prusch Farm Park Foundation and the City Of San Jose.

Fall NCBS Walker Creek Scholarships Need Your Support

NCBS Walker Creek Music Camp Scholarship Fund

TheΒ Northern California Bluegrass Society Walker Creek Music Camp Scholarship Fund is now collecting donations for theΒ September 28-October 1 Fall Camp, to be heldΒ Β at theΒ Walker Creek Ranch nearΒ Petaluma.

TheΒ Northern California Bluegrass Society, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization aka theΒ Santa Cruz Bluegrass Society, accepts donations and disburses scholarships. Donations to the fund are tax-deductible as allowed by law. Donors should consult their tax advisors. The Federal Tax ID No. is 94-2907716. Donors who do not need a tax deduction may donate money directly to the camp.

NCBS Members Elect 2017-2018 Board Of Directors At Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival

Board of Directors

The members of the Northern California Bluegrass Society elected the 2017-2018 Board Of Directors at the past weekend’s Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival.

New Board Members are Jesse Fichman, AJ Lee and Karen Reyes. Returning Board Members are Bruce Bellochio, Eric Burman, Bruce Edmundson, Mike Fisher, Michael Hall, and Mike Russell.

David Field and Penny Godlis retired from the board, but will continue to be active Society volunteers.

Revival Of San Francisco Bluegrass & Old Time Festival Set For October 11-15

The revival of the long-running San Francisco Bluegrass & Old Time Festival will take place October 11-15, 2017 at various venues in San Francisco.

A free closing concert will take place at the Jerry Garcia Amphitheatre in McLaren Park on Sunday afternoon, October 15.

The original festival was organized by a quasi-independent committee of the Northern California Bluegrass Society. The revival is a project of several area bluegrass organizations, including the California Bluegrass Association. NCBS welcomes this festival. Additional support will be provided by the San Francisco Parks & Recreation Department.
