Top Area Bluegrass Bands Set For FREE Prusch Park Festival In San Jose On October 7

Top area bluegrass bands will perform at the FREE Mountain Music Festival, set for the lovely Emma Prusch Farm Park in San JoseĀ on Sunday, October 7, 2018.

The park is on King Road near the 101/280/680 interchange.Ā  This is the only bluegrass festival in San Jose. It is fun, convenient, and relaxed. Enjoy the Harvest Fair while you listen to the music. Earthbelly Restaurant To Host FREE Wednesday Bluegrass Shows In Santa Cruz

TheĀ Earthbelly RestaurantĀ (Ocean at Soquel, Santa Cruz) isĀ hosting FREE regularĀ WednesdayĀ eveningĀ 6:00-9:00pmĀ bluegrass music shows.

The new venue is presenting a line-up of Santa Cruz area bands. The schedule began in mid-September, but is still being finalized. Check with organizerĀ Robert CorneliusĀ or the venue for performance details.Ā The new series is welcomed by theĀ Northern California Bluegrass Society.

The Goat Hill Girls Play The Thursday Bluegrass Series At The Summit House On October 4

The Goat Hill GirlsĀ will perform as part of the FREEĀ Thursday Bluegrass Series at the Summit House at the top of the Santa Cruz MountainsĀ on Highway 17 on Thursday, October 4Ā from 6:00-8:30pm.

The Summit House Beer Garden & Grill, 6 miles south of Los Gatos, has presented the series since January 2016. The Northern California Bluegrass Society welcomes the shows. Food and drink will be served during the performance and a fun time will be had by all.

Coming Soon: The Wildcat Mountain Ramblers on October 11, and Blue Summit on October 18.

Winter Brookdale Bluegrass Festival Set For Michael’s On Main In Soquel On December 6

TheĀ December 6, 2018Ā Winter Brookdale Bluegrass FestivalĀ is set for Michael’s On Main, the new acoustic music venue in Soquel.

All Brookdale festivals since 1998 have been welcomed by the Northern California Bluegrass Society.

Performers:Ā Freebo & Alice Howe, The Wildcat Mountain Ramblers, & The Brookdale Bluegrass Band.

The one-day gathering is presented by Brookdale Bluegrass, and will take place for the first time at MOM,Ā 2591 Main St,
Soquel.

Prusch Park Will Host San Jose’s Only Bluegrass Festival On Sunday, October 7

The Mountain Music Festival,Ā presented by theĀ Emma Prusch Park FoundationĀ &Ā The City of San Jose, will be held onĀ Sunday, October 7, 2018.

The 10:00am-5:00pm event is welcomed by the Northern California Bluegrass Society.

The day will feature a day of bucolic fun at San Jose’s only remaining farm (now park). In addition to a full day of fun, high quality bluegrass music, there will be a big harvest festival, food, and activities of interest to families.

The park is on King Road near the 101/280/680 interchange.Ā  This is the only bluegrass festival in San Jose. It is FREE, convenient, and enjoyable.

New Bluegrass Venue In Santa Cruz: The Earthbelly Restaurant FREE Wednesday Night Series

A brand new Santa Cruz bluegrass venue is now hosting regular Wednesday evening 6:00-9:00pm shows.

TheĀ Earthbelly RestaurantĀ (Ocean at Soquel) is bringing us a line-up ofĀ Monterey Bay Area bluegrass bands. The schedule began in mid-September, but is still being finalized. Check with organizerĀ Robert Cornelius or the venue for performance details.

The music is free and the food is healthy and good.

The Down Beets Head Up To The Summit House On Highway 17 For Thursday September 27

The Down Beets (Santa Cruz), the premier instrumental (and vocal) band of the Monterey Bay Area, heads up Highway 17 to the top of the Santa Cruz Mountains on Thursday, September 27, 6:00-8:30pm.

The Summit House Beer Garden & Grill, 6 miles south of Los Gatos, has presented the Thursday Bluegrass Series since January 2016. The Northern California Bluegrass Society welcomes these FREE shows. Fine food and drink will be served during the performance.

The 2018 Northern California Bluegrass Society Volunteer Thank-You PartyĀ will be held at an undisclosed location onĀ Saturday, October 13. All volunteers and bands on any NCBS event or project over the past year will be invited.

The righteously-coveted invitations will be arriving this week. NCBS — and the entire area bluegrass community of bands and fans — deeply appreciate the hard work of our volunteers throughout the year. We look forward to this annual party in their honor!
