Two Week Reminder: Last Day To Support The IBMA Foundation Banjo Raffle Is May 12

Two Week Reminder: The IBMA Foundation’s Strings for Dreams Bluegrass Raffle is underway and will END ON MAY 12. The prize for the 4th annual raffle is a 2011 Golden Era Deering Banjo with a hardshell case and other accessories, valued at $4,000. Longtime IBMA Foundation supporter Casey Henry donated the banjo. Previously owned by Casey’s student Betty Fisher, the instrument is in very good condition and has a powerful tone.

Sunday, April 28, 1:00pm (Pacific): The banjo will be played on SiriusXM Bluegrass Junction with Ned Luberecki and Becky Buller.

Tickets will be offered at $20 for one or $100 for six tickets. There is no limit to the number of chances each person may purchase. Raffle tickets are available until May 12, 2024 (11:59 pm, Eastern Daylight Time.)

The Northern California Bluegrass Society is a longtime organizational member of the International Bluegrass Music Association which is affiliated with the IBMA Foundation. The Foundation’s philanthropy supports the development of bluegrass music nationally and internationally. NCBS President Michael Hall serves on the foundation’s board of directors.

Sunny Side Of The Mountain (Monterey) is headed back to the Historic 30th Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival set for August 8-11, 2024 at the San Benito County Historical Park in Tres Pinos. The festival is a benefit for the Northern California Bluegrass Society.

Time For The Berkeley Bluegrass Festival At The Freight & Salvage

The Northern California Bluegrass Society welcomes the 8th Annual Berkeley Bluegrass Festival, set for this weekend April 26-28 at the Freight & Salvage Coffeehouse in Berkeley. NCBS will be there — Come On Down!

There are concerts each evening. The Freight festival is the only bluegrass festival in the East Bay and is programmed by Grammy-award winner Laurie Lewis and the Freight’s Artistic Director Peter Williams.
