Happy Thanksgiving from your friends in the Northern California Bluegrass Society!

Happy Thanksgiving from your friends in the Northern California Bluegrass Society!

The Northern California Bluegrass Society is collecting ideas from members for online bluegrass fun for now while we wait for future in-person gatherings when the pandemic is over. You are welcome to share your ideas — you can email NCBS President Michael Hall (hallmw@gmail.com) to pass on your suggestions.
This is the year to donate up to $300 to the Northern California Bluegrass Society/Santa Cruz Bluegrass Society if you want to save on taxes.
The CARES Act added a new, one-year-only $300 Charitable Contribution Deduction for 2020. Even if you do not itemize, you can still write off up to $300 in cash donations on your tax return next spring. Normally, you would have to itemize deductions to write off charitable giving when you file your taxes. That rule will return in 2021, so Act Before December 31, 2020.
Thanks for your support for local bluegrass music in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Monterey Bay Area, and all of Northern California! (Tax ID: 94-2907716.)

Northern California Bluegrass Musicians are listed in the NCBS Directory to give Online Lessons. The Directory is listed under Resources in the index on the left side of this website. Musicians can sign up to offer lessons at <webmaster@ncbs.us>.
This is a great way for students to support their favorite musicians during the Coronavirus Crisis. The directory is a FREE service of the Northern California Bluegrass Society. Interested students can check the directory and arrange ONLINE LESSONS with their favorite musicians (the price is between teacher and student).
The Northern California Bluegrass Society presented the 27th Annual Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival Online that took place on August 8, 2020. The line-up included AJ Lee & Blue Summit, Goat Hill Girls, Brookdale Bluegrass Band and Mike Fisher & Joanne Tanner.
The virtual show that replaced the in-person festival normally held at the San Benito County Historical Park in Tres Pinos is still available for viewing. Enjoy!
The NCBS Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival’s popular Facebook Group Page is the place for great local music by your favorite bluegrass bands.
The dang Coronavirus cancelled the August 2020 GOF Festival, but Local Bluegrass Musicians are invited to post their music on the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival Facebook Group Page.
For more information, contact Page Host and our GOF Festival Director Bruce Bellochio <Bbellochio@gmail.com>.
