TheĀ 27th Annual Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival OnlineĀ took place on August 8, 2020.Ā The line-up included AJ Lee & Blue Summit,Ā Goat Hill Girls,Ā Brookdale Bluegrass Band andĀ Mike Fisher & Joanne Tanner.
The Northern California Bluegrass Society presented the virtual show that replaced the in-person festival normally held at the San Benito County Historical Park in Tres Pinos.Ā We missed seeing you! Meanwhile, here is the link for viewing the archived program online:

Three Week Reminder: The deadline for the initial round of applications for the IBMA Foundation Arnold Shultz Fund that supports bluegrass participation by people of color is January 31, 2021.Ā Northern California Bluegrass Society members and their friends are encouraged to apply for this important new grant opportunity.
Grants can be used to support a wide range of support and outreach initiatives. The NCBS is a longtime organizational member of the International Bluegrass Music Association, which is affiliated with the Foundation. Northern California Bluegrass Musicians are listed in the NCBS DirectoryĀ to giveĀ Online Lessons.Ā This is a way for students/fans to support area musicians during the Coronavirus Pandemic.Ā The directory is a FREE service of the Northern California Bluegrass Society. Interested students can check the directory and arrange ONLINE LESSONS with their favorite musicians (the price is between teacher and student).Ā The convenient Directory is listed under Resources in the index on the left side of this website.Ā Musicians can sign up to offer lessons at <webmaster@ncbs.us>.
This weekend’s online CBA Jam-A-Thon will benefit the California Bluegrass Association’s Youth Programs. Donations will be accepted. The program features a number of NCBS favorites, including both local and national bands.
The weekend-long show continues on Saturday & Sunday, January 9 &10.
Many favorite NCBS bluegrass bands are included in this weekend’s CBA Jam-A-Thon line-up, along with top bands from across the country. Proceeds from the online program will benefit the California Bluegrass Association’s Youth Programs.
The weekend-long show will begin on Friday, January 8 at 5:00pm. It will end on Sunday, January 10. Donations will be accepted.
The online IBMA Women in Bluegrass Summit on Thursday, January 7 will include panel discussions and presentations on gender equity from renowned artists and women in the business. This FREE program is presented by the International Bluegrass Music Associationās Womenās Council.
The program will begin at 9:00am Pacific Time and end at 12:30pm. The IBMA Zoom Meeting Room has reached capacity, but the summit will be viewable live on theĀ IBMA Facebook Event Page.
Everyone is welcome to attend. The Northern California Bluegrass Society is a longtime organizational member of the IBMA.
