Raleigh Convention Center To Double In Size To Accommodate IBMA World Of Bluegrass & Other Conventions

The Raleigh Convention Center, home of the IBMA World Of Bluegrass Convention each September, will double its current size at its location in downtown Raleigh, NC. The expansion is needed to accommodate the bluegrass gathering and other large events. The expansion will require moving the outdoor Red Hat Amphitheater to an adjacent site. City approval will be required.

KKUP Bluegrass Marathon Wrap-Up Show Is Monday February 20 From 6:00-9:00pm

TheĀ annualĀ KKUP Radio Bluegrass Marathon ends today, but there will be a final Wrap-Up Show hosted by NCBS Vice-President Mike RussellĀ fromĀ 6:00-9:00pmĀ onĀ Monday, February 20. The station needs a few more donations to ensure the continued success of bluegrass music on this station throughout the coming year.

Donations Accepted For NCBS Walker Creek Music Camp Scholarship Fund

TheĀ Northern California Bluegrass SocietyĀ is now collecting donations for theĀ NCBS Walker Creek Music Camp Scholarship Fund.Ā NCBS/SCBSĀ is anĀ Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) Organization.Ā The NCBS Walker Creek Scholarship Fund CommitteeĀ awards scholarships twice each year to assist deserving students.Ā The next round of scholarships will benefit attendees at theĀ April 13-16, 2023Ā spring session.

KKUP Bluegrass Marathon Is This Weekend At 91.5FM & Online At KKUP.org

TheĀ annualĀ KKUP Radio Bluegrass Marathon, set for this weekend, Friday, February 17Ā toĀ Sunday, February 19. There will also be a wrap-up show hosted by NCBS Vice-President Mike Russell from 6:00-9:00pmĀ onĀ Monday, February 20.

During the marathon, all music played 24 hours each day will be bluegrass and related musical genres. Many bands will play live in the studio during the marathon. NCBS welcomes the marathon — it’s what all radio programming should be all the time!

TheĀ 29th Annual Northern California Bluegrass Society Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass FestivalĀ is set forĀ Thursday-Sunday, August 10-13, 2023Ā at theĀ San Benito County Historical ParkĀ inĀ Tres Pinos.

NCBS Members will be able to purchase discount tickets when advance sales begin this spring.

Highway 9 Will Reopen In Time For Brookdale Bluegrass Festival March 24-26 At The Brookdale Lodge

Highway 9 in the San Lorenzo Valley is closed due to storm damage in southern Ben Lomond. However, the road will reopen soon and will not affect theĀ Brookdale Bluegrass Festival, set for March 24-26, 2023Ā at the historicĀ Brookdale LodgeĀ on Highway 9 inĀ Brookdale, just north of Ben Lomond.

The FREE event has been presented byĀ Brookdale Bluegrass and welcomed by the NCBS since 1998.
