NCBS Members Elect 2022-2023 Board Of Directors At The Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival

The Members of the Northern California Bluegrass Society elected the organization’s 2022-2023 Board Of Directors at the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival in Tres Pinos on August 14.

Amy Warren of Monterey is newly elected to the NCBS Board. She is a GOF Festival volunteer and is the former director of the Guitars Not Guns at-risk youth program in Monterey. She plays in two bluegrass bands and is a frequent jammer with her guitar at California bluegrass festivals.

Eight incumbents were re-elected. They are: Bruce Bellochio of Brookdale, Eric Burman of Bonny Doon, Bruce Edmundson of Sunnyvale, Mike Fisher of Boulder Creek, Michael Hall of Redwood City, AJ Lee of Santa Cruz, Karen Reyes of Groveland, and Mike Russell of Fremont.

Thanks to our two departing board members, Dana Frankel of Santa Rosa and Jesse Fichman of Sebastopol. They will both continue to be involved with Society projects and bluegrass music.

 

 

San Benito County To Improve Water Quality & Facilities At The Historical Park In Tres Pinos

Earlier this year, San Benito County chose to commit all of the money it received from the Federal Infrastructure Bill to water improvements at the San Benito County Historical Park. The county has now allocated these 1.1 million dollars to these specific projects:
$100,000 — Water quality improvements making water potable
250,000 — Renovation of current restrooms & showers.
750,000 — Construction of new restrooms & showers
The San Benito County Historical Park is the home of the Northern California Bluegrass Society’s Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival.

It’s (Finally!) Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival Week!

After two years of shutdown due to Covid, the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival will (finally!) return to lovely and talented Tres Pinos beginning on Thursday. We can’t wait!

THURSDAY: Gates open at Noon (no early entry). The Lantern Stage is at 8:00pm — bring your camp lanterns to light the stage.

FRIDAY: First Stage begins at 10:00am. Main Stage begins at 3:00pm.

SATURDAY: Main Stage begins at 10:00am. Dance Hall Stage begins at 11:00pm.

SUNDAY: Main Stage begins at 10:00am. Festival ends at 3:00pm.

The festival gates for the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival will open at Noon on Thursday, August 11, 2022. There is NO EARLY ENTRY except for festival staff, volunteers, and bands.
