Frankly Bluegrass Music Festival Will Be Held October 9-13 At Amador County Fairgrounds In Plymouth

The Amador County Fairgrounds in Plymouth, site of several bluegrass festivals over the past 40 years, will have a new festival October 9-13, 2024. The Frankly Bluegrass Music Festival will honor the late Frank Solivan, Sr. and will involve members of the Solivan family. The retired promotor of the last Plymouth festival, Larry Baker, is consulting with the new event. More details will be announced soon.

 

 

Diana Donnelly To Perform With Sidesaddle & Co At Sam’s BBQ January 17

Former band member Diana Donnelly will join Sidesaddle & Co (was “Sidesaddle” back in her day) at Sam’s BBQ at 6:00pm on Wednesday, January 17 for a reunion performance.

The band has been around since 1979 and is a longtime Bluegrass Society favorite. Reservations are recommended (408) 297-9151. Sam’s Bar-B-Cue, 1110 S Bascom Ave, San Jose.

Just Added: Open Jam To Precede Kathy Kallick Band Concert In Palo Alto On February 3

Peninsula Bluegrass will present the Kathy Kallick Band and the Gryphon Trio in concert on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at the Palo Alto Unitarian Universalist Church. The concert is sponsored by the Northern California Bluegrass Society.

Just added: A free open jam for concert-goers led by Ed Cirimele will precede the concert. The KKB will debut its new album. Jack Tuttle & The Trio will open the big show. Many of the volunteers involved in this event previously helped with the now-dissolved Redwood Bluegrass Associates.
