GOF Band Crying Uncle Bluegrass Band Named Finalist For IBMA Momentum Award, Will Play GOF

The Alameda-based Crying Uncle Bluegrass Band has been named a Finalist for Best Band for the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Momentum Awards, a huge honor for young bands hitting it big on the national bluegrass scene.

The band will take the place of the related band, Jubilee, which was originally scheduled on the main stage of the August 10-13 Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival. At the GOF, the performers will include two musicians who play in both bands — Miles Quale and Teo Quale, with John Gooding and Andrew Osborn, plus Tuki Walker of Jubilee. The other member of Jubilee, Airee Walker, will not be able to be at the festival this year due to a commitment at her music college in Berlin, Germany.
