More Money for Bluegrass!
(Simple plan to make more money on the Raffle at GOF)
I bought $20 worth of raffle tickets at GOF. I had to fill out 30 tickets with my name and phone number. I joked with other raffle ticket buyers that it reminded me of when I was being punished for acting bad at school and needed to write my name many times. They agreed and said there should be a “better way”. I want to suggest a better way.
If someone wants to buy $20 or $100 of raffle tickets, rather than requiring them to write their name and phone number on each ticket, the raffle lady has a clipboard where they write their name and phone number. Next to their name and phone number the START number and LAST number on the tickets is recorded.
If someone buys only 1 or 3 tickets… they still need to write their name and phone number on each ticket. This keeps things simpler and also encourages raffle ticket buyers to buy more!
The tickets that are recorded on the “golden clipboard” are put into the container with all the other tickets, just like always. If a ticket is drawn that is “blank” then the list on the “golden clipboard” is consulted for the name and phone of the winning ticket.
By the way, since the tickets are sold in order of increasing numbers, the process of finding the winner from the clipboard is very fast. (Photos can be taken of clipboard as backup)
This “better way” will encourage more money to be spent to buy raffle tickets. This money will go directly to benefit the Bluegrass Organization!
