NCBS Welcomes Two Bluegrass Festivals This Weekend In Berkeley & Brookdale

The Northern California Bluegrass Society welcomes the return of two great bluegrass festivals this weekend — one in Berkeley and one in Brookdale. The NCBS Information Table will be at these events with updates on the re-emergence of live bluegrass in our area.  Enjoy!

Berkeley Bluegrass Festival

April 29-30 & May 1

Freight & Salvage, Berkeley

Top Bay Area and national bluegrass bands will perform Friday, Saturday & Sunday evenings at the Freight & Salvage in Berkeley. Festival and daily tickets are available. This is the only bluegrass festival held in the East Bay.

Here is the line-up:

FRIDAY, April 29

7:00pm — Laurie Lewis and the Right Hands; Tim O’Brien & Jan Fabricius; and the Jacob Jolliff Band.

SATURDAY, April 30

7:00pm — The Seldom Scene; NorthSouthEastWest Jam with Michael Daves, Tatiana Hargreaves, Missy Raines, Kristin Scott Benson, & Laurie Lewis; and Windy Hill.

SUNDAY, May 1

7:00pm — The Grascals; Missy Raines & Allegheny; and the Kathy Kallick Band.

Brookdale Bluegrass & American Roots Festival

April 30

Brookdale Lodge, Brookdale

This FREE event, held at various locations since 1998, returns to its original and namesake venue on Highway 9 in the San Lorenzo Valley — the famed Brookdale Lodge! Brookdale Bluegrass presents this indoor/outdoor gathering beginning at 2:00pm and running into the evening.

Eric Burman & The Brookdale Bluegrass Band, The Stoney Mountain Ramblers, The Wildcat Mountain Ramblers, & BanjerDan’s Danger Band. Plus: A ‘Tweener Stage with more bands!
